Some minor factions have quest lines to join them and most involves taking a city from a faction and a very big surprise in late game. Perisno has some cool quests and nice troops quite a lot of quests and some unique starts which either award you or give you a quest to complete over the course of game it has in battle command features like rallying heals your troops. You can also create a custom knighthood order which with right investment becomes quite OP but this is quite late game. Factions feel balanced and it’s quite a hard mod but when you get the gist of it, one of the most enjoyable mods I played. Prophesy of Pendor has achievements and knighthood orders, huge invading armies, and an non joinable but quite op elf faction, if you increase rep with them you can visit their cities. In TLD personal relationship with lords doesn't matter, only relations with the faction itself (which you can increase via quests or via winning battles, similarly to renown in Native) I have trouble playing any other mod now honestly simply because the thought of having to play nice with some dumbass lords or hearing about some worthless feast makes me want to puke. For someone like me who really enjoys playing as a vassal and being a "cog in the machine" however, it's by far the best mod. If your favorite thing in M&B is making your own faction and conquering the whole world. (But there's an actual siege battle for every settlement) Villages and most cities aren't "looted" in TLD, they're burned down for good. Lords don't defect, but they can get killed in battle and they're gone forever once their faction is eliminated. As far as I'm concerned The Last Days is the mod that is the furthest away from Native since it removes a LOT of fluff (marriage, politics in general, honor, renown) and replaces it by a total war between the two sides (Good and Evil) from the LotR universe.
